Principal's Message

“Hold high your lamps alight
 The shadows of darkness flying
By your touch in home, hospital
And families healing the world around.”

Holy Cross college of Nursing aims at the holistic formation of young women. It is an organization by the women for the women and with the women, originated in the year 1844 at Menzingen, a small village in Switzerland and has the belief that women are able to build up individuals, families and communities and that education is the stepping stone of development. Nursing education highlights the aspirations within the learner and the development of ones own abilities that lead an individual to professional practice. People are in need of care and protection at the time of a crisis- physical, social or psychological origin. Empowered nurses serve the society by providing preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative services.

Professional nurses by the genuine care they give are able to touch the stage of despair and denial in the suffering person. Caring touch generates strength. Strength leads to hope that helps the person to find meaning for life or accept the end as a peaceful passing away. The inspiring force behind the care is the love of God who bent down to serve. Thus we conquer by serving. We believe in the vision of a reward under the banner of the Holy Cross.
